Boston Event Calendar Sample Submission #3
Kennedy Night at the Boston Pops (May 18 & 19, 2010)
Begin with some great music... Add inspirational speeches of historical significance... Bring in a world renowned chorus... Get the night narrated by Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris... And what do you get? "A Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers" If you're a fan of (or simply fascinated by) the Kennedys, and enjoy a night at the Pops, this world premiere is likely to be right up your alley. And to top it, the piece will be accompanied by the Tanglewood Fesitival Chorus. I'm particularly partial to this addition as regular trips to the Tanglewood Festival has been a long-time tradition in my family. "A Dream Lives On" was commissioned in honor of the 125th Anniversary of the Boston Pops and the 50th Anniversary of JFK's presidency. And if you haven't visited the museum yet, you can learn loads about the Kennedy era at the JFK Museum. Logisitical Info Date: May 18 & 19, 2010 Cost: $39-$63 ($79 tickets already sold out) Website: click here.
Boston Event Calendar Sample Submission #4
While You're in Boston... Don't Miss Alvin Ailey (April 15-18, 2010)
Ok, I'm slightly biased about the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In high school, I was lucky enough to take a dance class taught by Judith Jamison. To put it bluntly, IT WAS AMAZING!!! The following summer I participated in the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive. Even though I only had six weeks there, it probably had more impact on my development as a dancer than anything else during my 16 years of intensive dance training. It's now almost 20 years later and Ailey is celebrating Judith Jamison's 20th anniversary as Artistic Director. If you have even the slightest interest in seeing a show while you're in Boston in April, put this at the top of your list. Logistics Dates: April 15-18, 2010 Location: Wang Theater, Boston Tickets: $35.00 - $70.00 Note: If you want cheap seats, Bostix is offering half-price tickets for the Thursday and Friday night shows.
