Answer Hi Rachel, Thanks so much for your question about the old MBTA tokens. Your answer is no, and yes... No: You can no longer use T tokens at the fare gates. To actually get on a train, you'll need to have a CharlieCard or CharlieTicket. Yes: However, you can use your tokens as payment at any t-stop that has an in-station fare vending machine. The fare vending machines accept T tokens, cash (up to $20 bills) and credit/debit cards. With your T tokens, you can buy CharlieTickets or add value to CharlieCards or Tickets. The machines will count each token as $1.25. If you have any other questions about the Boston Public Transportation System, I've got a fairly thorough explanation here, or let me know if there's anything else I can help with. Hope that helps, and that you're enjoying the snow if you're in Boston right now! Cheers, Return from Boston T Tokens to Your Boston Questions
